What a beautiful offering thing to be offering lotus flowers 🪷 at the temples of the sacred feminine and masculine we visited in Cambodia.

On our final day of our travels we also visited the site of 1000 lingha and then got to bathe in the waterfall below them said to be the semen of shiva ! Seemed pretty appropriate given it was our honeymoon! 🥰

My husband is an amputee. Many people don’t know that because for so many years mark was not comfortable showing that part of himself. For fear of the same things we all fear .. judgement, and many people wonder did she choose him like that or did she stand by his side as he lost it. Well it’s the former . Mark lost his leg when he was only one years old . What a thing for a baby to go through.

My cousin was born with only two fingers when she was young . I think that gave me some kind of deep understanding around limb loss and normalising of the issue in our family. I’m glad because it made me open to meeting and marrying the most amazing beautiful being that is my husband now too.

It amazes me how innovative humans can be in how they live. Visiting the floating village here in Cambodia was pretty eye opening and humbling .

Reminding me to give thanks for the basics like running water and a flushing toilet for starters !

Mastery … what does it mean ? This is Phim wanida a therapist who practices Thai Lanna massage who has been doing this practice now for 37 years. It’s kind of like Thai massage but with ropes and hammers added ! Phims parents spotted from a young age that she liked to take care of people and always said she will be a doctor and she is now as her practice is fixing bodies !

It’s made me think about the term master as I have reiki and Sekhem “master” levels but I never use that title as frankly you can get to that level in as little as 18 months and although I understand it’s about the “master energy” I think from a client perspective the term master makes people think you have a long standing practice like Phims !

They say it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert in something and how that’s quantifiable I have no idea . I would say I’m happy for being an eternal student of things and I would hope should I ever get to a master level of something I would have also learnt the humility not to be calling myself a master at any rate !

Happy Christmas to you all! Playing individual notes on the guitar whilst also doing a picking pattern is a bit like patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time . I first tried to learn this technique from tab (guitar music) which made it even worse tbh and eventually learnt I could do it if I just felt my way through what notes from the pattern were needed and what had to be dropped in place of a note for the melody . So in short this took me a while to learn ! Enjoy and happy Christmas 🎄
